Help Us Create a Transportation Plan for Neighborhood, Schools, and Community

As West Jackson and Northern South Park continue to develop, the Town of Jackson and Teton County Wyoming have undertaken a study to plan for the future transportation network, in order to meet demands and provide safe, equitable travel.

The area from South Park Loop Road to High School Road and Red House Road contains several priority projects including improvements to existing intersections/roads and new pathway connections. This area includes several proposed developments, such as the Central Wyoming College Campus and the Bronc Achievement Center, as well as potential new developments.

Our Integrated Transportation Plan and Comprehensive Plan call for a significant mode shift to non-motorized modes of transportation, including that future transportation demand should be met with non-single-occupancy-vehicle options.

This study will evaluate alternatives for a transportation network that:

  • INCORPORATES COMMUNITY PRIORITIES AND ANTICIPATES POTENTIAL TRANSPORTATION NEEDS IN WEST JACKSON
  • REHABILITATES AND MODERNIZED EXISTING RIGHTS-OF-WAY
  • FULFILLS THE POLICY DIRECTIVE TO MAKE WALKING, BIKING, TRANSIT, AND CARPOOLING MORE CONVENIENT THAN DRIVING ALONE

As a joint venture of Teton County and the Town of Jackson, Modernizing Mobility for West Jackson will create a plan for bicycle and pedestrian improvements; upgrades to our roads, sidewalks, and intersections; and determine the best layout for future connectivity.

Multiple transportation planning initiatives are currently underway that encompass the West Jackson area, including Safe Streets For All, the Wyoming Department of Transportation WY-22 Corridor, and Gregory Lane Project. This graphic shows the overall planning objectives of these projects and how they overlap. By coordinating our public outreach efforts at the Regional Transportation Expo, community members can find out about and contribute to all of these efforts.
